Gear

So many people ask, how and what do you pack for a trip that is this long?  While I would have loved to bring 10 pairs of shoes, 20 tops, my blow dryer and every pair of jeans I own, I know that is not possible 🙂  Jason of course is fine with 2 t-shirts and 2 pairs of shorts, less is more in his world.  I love gadgets and fun travel ‘accessories’ and could easily over fill any bag you gave me.  Trust me, you can buy a lot of what you need on the road, take and stick to the ‘less is more’ travel philosophy.

Here is an overview of the major items that came with us on our trip:

Jason’s List:

Becky’s List:

Items we are sharing:

  • Bushnell Compact Binoculars – we didn’t need these
  • Pacsafe Anti-Theft Portable Safe (gift from Becky’s parents) – this was THE most important thing we had.  We left a lot of our valuables in our room locked up in this safe.  We felt there was a better chance of us getting robbed on the street then from our hotel.  We never ran into any issues, but this made us feel a lot more secure.
  • Under clothes wallet
  • HP Mini 210 Netbook (with HP mini sleeve) – our lifesaver when we could find wifi and is how we wrote this blog!
  • Flip Video Camera
  • Solar iPod speaker
  • SteriPen Adventurer water purifier – this saved us a ton of money on bottled water and we used it quite often
  • Travel plug adapter

  1. Bring a small compass and a flexable solar panel for charging eletronics. These are very handy.
    Kind regards,
